VITEEE-21 Online Remote Proctored Examination (ORPE) replaces VITEEE-21 that was scheduled as Computer Based Test in various centres across the city from June 18th to 26th, 2021.
VITEEE-21 (ORPE) will be conducted on May 28th, 29th and 31st 2021. Applicants are advised to take the examination at home or in any place under safe and congenial environment wherethe required devices and good internet capacity are available. Members of faculty, VIT will be invigilating the entire examination through your primary device a Windows/ Linux/ Mac desktop or laptop and a secondary mobile device (Android / iOS).
The requirements for taking test online are given under:
1) Primary Device
a)Apple macOS: 64-bit macOS, and the minimum macOS version supported is macOS 10.11 (El Capitan).
b) Microsoft Windows: 64-bit Windows on AMD or Intel CPUs, and the supported OS versions are Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1and Windows 10.
c) Ubuntu Linux: 64-bit Ubuntu on AMD or Intel CPUs and the supported OS versions are Ubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 20.04
2) Secondary Device
a) Android mobile device with a front-facing camera, with minimum OS version of Android 8 or above, and Chrome browser (version 80 or above) or Edge browser (version 45 or above)
b) iOS mobile device with a front-facing camera, with minimum OS version iOS 13 or above,
and Safari browser (version 13 or above)
3) Network connection
a) A stable network connection to each device at a minimum upload/ download bandwidth of 256 kpbs should be available throughout the test window period i.e. two hours (30 minutes for pretest checking and 90 minutes for actual test).
b) The test platform will assess the network and device capacity and will allow the candidate to proceed only on the basis of satisfaction of the test requirements. Otherwise, the candidate may request for rescheduling.
c) Note that retest will not be allowed once the applicant logs-in and starts the examination.
d) If there is any interruption for more than 5 min during the test, the test will be terminated.
4) Mock Examination
a) Two mock examinations to check the device compatibility and to simulate the exam will be available tentatively from May 20, 2021. The link will be sent to the registered email / mobile, besides being published in VITEEE page( https://viteee.vit.ac.in/ ).
b) The applicants are requested to make arrangements for these devices and network.
5) Syllabus and question paper pattern
a) The syllabus will be as specified in the VITEEE page ( https://viteee.vit.ac.in/ ) under the menu syllabus.
b) The test will consist of 5 sections: Physics, Chemistry, English and Aptitudewill be common to Mathematicsor Biology options. There will be 25 questions each from Mathematics or Biology, Physics, Chemistry; 2 questions from English and 3 questions from Aptitude i.e. totally 80 questions areto be answered in 90 min.
6) Guidelines to take Online Proctored Examination
a) Ensure that you have the devices and internet connection as specified.
b) If you do not own one, arrange to hire/ borrow with the specifications as in (1,2 and 3).
c) If needed, have back up devices for both laptop/ mobile in case of any trouble/ malfunction.
d) Two days before the mock tests, login credentials will be shared through email/ SMS.
e) Take mock tests after ensuring the compatibility of your devices and internet speed to VITEEE requirements (1, 2 and 3)
f) The first mock will be auto-proctored with can be attended without any booking.
g) The second mock test will be human proctored and should be booked ahead.
h) Applicant’s presence is needed at the time of mock.
i) For taking examinations, be in a quiet room fully protected from any external audio or video disturbances. Do not undertake the tests in public places. The proctor, in case of any such interruption being noticed, will disqualify you after environment check from the primary and secondary devices.
j) If there is any problem during examination, you can chat/ audio call the proctor to resolve the issue.
k) During the examination, both devices should connect only to Internet. Connection to any other device using any means, if detected, will lead toapplicant’s disqualification.
l) The applicant must be the sole occupant in the room; appearance of other faces / persons during the examinations will be considered as malpractice.
m) Applicant should use only system speaker. Wired/ Wireless audio connection is prohibited.
n) A 360 degreeenvironment check will be performed by the proctor through primary and secondary devices.
o) Test takers will not be allowed to visit other tabs in browser or use any other system services. Any attempt to do so or engage other device or person for getting answers on behalf of the applicant will be considered as malpractice.
p) The complete audio/ video streams will be recorded and analyzed during post examination.
q) Detailed list of prohibited activities will be given at the time of mock teset. Even an iota of violation of instructions will result in candidate’s disqualification.
